Tea Party Bookshop Newsletter Beginning of Summer
June 2009
Watermelon
So we have apparently moved directly into summer – luckily, we are ready with all the gardening books you’ll need to get the veggies thriving, plus the summer reading you can finally get to sit down with.   And the kids will need something to read too – lots of great young adult level books are here.

Stop by and check out the latest releases, there is quite a bit of good reading!  Ask me for a recommendation – I’ve had some time to read lately.

A great line up of events is happening in June, and I am always amazed and thankful for the cool people who appear and wish to be a part of the Tea Party experience.  Come down and participate!

July Preview

More fabulous events ahead!

Silverton author Naseem Rakha will be here signing her debut novel The Crying Tree.  Set in Oregon, it is the story of a family and how they cope with loss – but it’s so much more. I am about halfway through, and it is fabulous.  I think this book will be big- more when we nail down the date.

Another book that’s sure to be talked about is Shimmer by Eric Barnes.
A financial thriller set on Wall Street, with a morally dubious protagonist who runs a Ponzi-like scheme.  Sound like recent headlines?  He’ll be joining us July 21st – he’s charming in person, and we’ll have a fascinating evening.

Great classes coming up, including a workshop on the Mayan Calendar, which I find so intriguing.  Plus more on crystals. We will also find some very cool way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Lunar Landing.  It’s a seminal event for me, and if anyone has any memories that you particularly associate with it and wish to share, please email me!

This economy is knocking the socks off of everyone.  THANK YOU to everyone who comes by, whether to just say hello, or to stock up on incense, or to come to a class.  I appreciate ALL of you!!
